Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. she is the current president and controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss was born in California and grew up as part of a wealthy family. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman in real estate who eventually became the proprietor of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. Their relationship ended in 1972 and she began to feel that she was emotionally left behind. As a 19-year-old she inherited her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as General Manager. She then founded the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. Before becoming vice president for the Lakers, she served as president of Great Western Forum. Buss was the father of her deceased father in 2013 which is when the Lakers were acquired by her as well as five of her siblings through an inheritance trust. Every sibling was entitled to the same number of votes. She assumed her duties as president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also owns Women of Wrestling, a professional organization that has its the headquarters located in Los Angeles.
